Once you have some text loaded into the system, begin by browsing through interesting articles. Use the "Find…" command to search for keywords. Then, while reading the article you found you may want to associate your thread with another keyword you have just found. Use "Find…", and while holding down the command key click on the new keywords. After seeing that the keywords have been inserted into your Find command, press Return to find a cross-link.

New articles are read by analyzing downloaded messages, finding message breaks and storing each “article” in a separate card. A CIS Navigator session file is suitable for input into News Stack.
This version is very inefficent in reading and analyzing undelimited text files. If possible, reformat the downloaded message files so that the ASCII (12) Form Feed character separates each message. Use the OTHER button to specify FF format.

Messages may be deleted by date. When using that function, all cards created on or after the date entered will be kept. Or, all cards created before the delete date will be deleted.
After deleting cards always use the "Compact Stack…" menu option. HyperCard does not automatically recover space.

Using the "Clip" button while browsing articles will copy the article to the Clipping card. Each time you clip, the article is appended to your set of clippings. Use this feature to create a personalized summary of your work on the stack.
Use a "go card clipping" command or navigate via the command card. The clipping may be saved to a file or the "Clippings" stack.

Version 1.0: Only Fido and CIS is implmented. Raw text file reading is VERY slow - reading ff-delimited articles is MUCH faster. Why is it so sloooow????? This is ridiculous…
Version 1.1 - All listed information services now implemented. Clone stack is NOT implemented. Bugs fixed -> "Other" file reading didn't work; various bugs in the displaying of help screens; the "clipping" is now retained in the clipping card when the stack is closed.

Sorry, that selection is not implemented. Articles will not be separated.

Sorry, the Clone Stack is not implemented.
Please make a copy of your “virgin” News Stack and keep your original for archival purposes. Same advice goes for the Clipping stack, too.
